On the occasion of the visit of an official US Congressional delegation to Portugal, AmCham Portugal hosted an exclusive executive luncheon that brought together members of the Board and a group of business leaders.
The American delegation was led by Congressman Vern Buchanan, Chairman of the House Democracy Partnership (HDP), an organization focused on strengthening relations between the US and partner democracies around the world, promoting institutional cooperation, economic prosperity and regional stability.
The luncheon was also attended by the US Ambassador to Portugal, John J. Arrigo, accompanied by other members of the American diplomatic corps, reinforcing the strong institutional bond between the two nations.
The Congressional delegation also included Representatives Claudia Tenney (R-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) and Adrian Smith (R-NE), allowing for a broad, high-level exchange of views on the global macroeconomic landscape and bilateral trade and investment opportunities.
During the meeting, the business leaders present had the opportunity to discuss priority issues for transatlantic relations and to analyze the impact of current economic policies on international trade.
This session reinforced AmCham Portugal’s strategic importance as a privileged platform for connection and dialogue between the private sector, the diplomatic corps and leading international policymakers.
AmCham Portugal expresses its deep gratitude to Congressman Vern Buchanan, the entire US Congressional delegation, Ambassador John J. Arrigo and all the business leaders present for their valuable contributions to this important institutional exchange.
